"Day Forest" exaggerates rudiments of time through slow meditations on subtle movements where candid instants emerge addressing endurance, frustration and duration. I emphasize the temporal quality of the extended moment by making stilled videos that resemble photographs. For instance, the endurance of the subject is revealed when movements in the stilled image appear, emphasizing the frustration of the photographic moment. The sacred quality of the extended moment is disrupted by small movements in the natural setting and in a man’s body as he strains to hold his pose.
